28th February 2009: Lushoto to Mikumi

When we got up it was pretty cloudy and there was no view of Irente to be seen. The so called guide was also dissappointed as he could not persuade us to take him to show us around. However the chapati ordered by Alison last night was good eaten with chciken curry we had in the fridge. We packed up quite sharpishly, bearing in mind that we had over 400 kms to drive today.

27th February 2009: Murshi to Lushoto

I eventuallly got to sleep last night but was awake by 0630hrs and just couldn't sleep anymore after that. Then I discovered that the toilets didn't flush very well and while wanting a hot shower ended with a cold one because the power went off just as I was testing the water. Come to think of it there probably wasn't any hot water in any case. Maybe we were conned again and this time by the Tanzanians.

I had taken the doxicyclene too late last night and gone to sleep without giving it a chance to dissolve and that has caused some irritation in my system, although not as bad as had happened before, it still woke me up early in the morning. I have to be more careful with the drug I am taking as I can’t afford to be taken ill.

As Alison was desperate to get the website updated, we agreed that today I shall take Adrian to the various sight that we have been told to be worthwhile visiting. We were ready to leave without waking Jimmy up as I felt he needed the rest but was told by Dunstan that he meant what he said about showing Adrian and I around.
