As discussed the previous evening we intended to do some photo shoot for the benefit of our sponsors and we went back towards the Swedish border where we had seen some nice spots to take them. We managed to take them with the help of the tripod and timer facilities on the camera.

After lunch we headed towards Fauska some 240 kms away on the E6. The sat nav kept on telling us to turn around and we wondered why as it would take us back into the Swedish border. After a while fiddling with the controls Alison discovered that there is also a route which calls for ferry use and that had not been keyed in. We were then on the right track and soon was on the ferry to take us across the bay from Skarberget to Bognes, a 25 minutes crossing.

A number of times I wanted to stop for the night but decided against it as we didn’t have sufficient N. Kroners on us to be comfortable with in case we needed to buy something that was essential. We carried on to Fauska a fairly large town to top up our funds and headed for Camping Lundhøgda.

We arrived at about 8 p.m. set up camp and had dinner of fish and chips. Then it struck me! I did not know what happened, the only thing I knew was that the glass and plates were on the floor and I was in a bit of a daze. I knew then that Alison had screamed for an ambulance to be called and she was asking me if I was alright. Of course I said I was but knowing very well I could not move without help. The owner and someone else helped laid me down on a mattress until the ambulance arrived.

I was still conscious when in the ambulance and was incomprehensible part of the times. I knew the ambulance stopped somewhere and after consultation we carried on to the hospital. The hospital staffs were all waiting for my arrival and I knew I was in good hands. I could feel that I was loosing the use of my right limbs and was prepared to give to give my consent to anything the doctors was going to do. I didn’t know what infuse was but I blinked my eyes twice in agreement to what they were about to do and I think Alison was informed that I had given my consent.
