Today was the best opportunity for me to get the tyres rotated and battery changed if need be. When I got up I told Alison to take Adrian for breakfast and I would go to see to the tyres. I was not the first in the queue at Walmart but I didn't have to wait too long before Tuah was in the bay. Unfortunately, I was told that they didn't have the battery with the correct size to replace the auxiliary battery and advised me to go to Nissan. Little did they know that the batteries in Tuah are not Nissan originals. It took them ages to rotate the tyres but the job was done by 10.30am. I got the fuel refilled and by the time we left the Motel it was 11.30am. I was informed by Alison that we could be in New Orleans by 5pm if we drove non-stop. I didn't respond to her then. Not even an hour from Chipley it started to rain and it was heavy. I could barely see the car in front of me at times and yet some of the trucks were whizzing passed me at 70mph. Sooner or later we would witness an accident I thought and true enough half hour later we saw flashing lights of police cars ahead and when we slowed down over the crest of a hill a truck had it a car. We were not held up for too long though. As I had my cheese sandwich before we left Chipley, I didn't feel hungry and told er so, when Alison asked if I wanted biscuits. And as the journey progressed I began to question why Alison input the destination as New Orleans in the GPS. A few exits before Gulfport, when the tension was high between us, we decided to see if we could find a campsite and apparently the RV camping do not cater for walk-in customers, only members are welcomed! That put us in a bit of quandary as there did not seem to be any State Parks either around the area. We went into Gulfport thinking that as it was a weekend and being near the airport there could be lots of rooms available. Of course we didn't realise that it is the weekends that visitors come to Gulfport and Biloxi for their breaks and the hotel rates was far more than we could and wanted to pay. That was when I got upset with Alison complaining about me asking for the biscuits. We moved on further and found Diamondead with its two motels one of which advertising lingerie show (which would not be a good idea for Adrian) and another known to us to be quite reasonable. Unfortunately, the Econo Lodge only had smoking room at the cheapest rate they could offer, but for one night we could put up with the remnants of smoke smell I supposed. I slept early as I knew that I would wake up in the early hours of the morning because of the medication, which was taken after dinner. I should really take them after tea and could have a good nights sleep then. I meant to do that every day and and each day I forgot to take them until after dinner. Tomorrow, we shall see!
