27th July 2009; San Antonio to San Marcos

We arrived at the Lockhart State Park just as the Ranger was closing shop. She briefly told us to find a site suitable for us and the cost for camping was USD15. We could settle it in the morning on the way out if we decided not to stay longer. There were only 3 other RVs plus the camp host who had a police car parked in front of her RV. It was hot but there was a strong breeze blowing and I was hoping that it would continue blowing even after the sun had gone down.

As we sat relaxing, with Alison on the laptop (what again?) the camp host came back with four dogs. We sat watching her bathed the dogs and then she realised that her side awning was lying lop sided. She must have called a few people in town but the Police supervisor came and tried to put the awning straight but obviously didn't now how. One of the campers came by and he got things sorted quite quickly.

I fancied eating rice tonight but Alison was not hungry and I ended up eating the boil in the bag chicken curry, She was kind enough to cut a piece of dried fish to go with the curry which was enough to make me enjoy the meal. I took my time enjoying the breeze after having a cold shower and felt grateful for the little things that God created, although admittedly they can be scientifically explained.
