Today despite the fact that John had asked a couple of times for updates on the status of Tuah, nothing was forthcoming from the Customs Brokers. I don’t know these guys but they are useless or perhaps my business is too small for them to care.
We were meant to go to the park just passed the Food Lion supermarket but the weather had turned fouled. So instead we had our Popeye chicken in the store and afterwards meandered across to the Radio shack to see what they have in the store. Alison asked if they had Garmin in stock and they did at a mere USD195 per set. The funny thing was the fact that we could bargain and Alison casually asked what their best price was. After some exchanges of funny remarks, the store minder came up with the figure of USD165. That’s 15% discount!!! When we got back to the hotel Alison was all excited over the new toy only to discover that it only has a 12 volt plug in the car lighter charger! We needed Tuah more than ever now that we have the Garmin replaced. The clock went slowly passed 5pm and there was still no word from John and I guessed he had not head from the Brokers either. Paul Dzunkel had not responded to my follow up email asking him to consider capping the demurrage charges either. So, another day of waiting had gone by!! |
