This morning we had some hope of hearing good news concerning Tuah but it turned out that the inspection could not be done last Friday as the customs didn’t have the keys.
The keys were only handed to the Customs early in the morning and that the inspection was being conducted as John emailed me! What a letdown. All the same we decided to wait at the hotel all day to hear if there was any bad news and if we did what to do about it. While Alison continued with her scrapping Adrian and I took turns watching TV. By lunch time nothing was forthcoming and there was no point in chasing after John. I spoke to Ed the Customs Broker who didn’t have any idea of what was happening as the Brokers were not allowed to go and attend the inspection either. All they could do was monitor on the Customs website. So as not to waste time I called the AAA for guidance on insurance. The AAA was very helpful indeed and by the time we finished talking I was waiting for the quotes from Robin at the AAA offices in Virginia Beach. She was very prompt and came back with the best quote for third party liability at USD 425 for six months. Upon enquiring about fully comprehensive coverage she came back with a figure of USD1000 more. So fully comprehensive is out of the question. I told her that we would drop by he roffice tomorrow anticipating that we would be getting Tuah by then Surely!!! |
