Today it was a real treat for us as the hotel provided good continental breakfast with even waffle on offer. Alison was being a glutton and had two helpings of waffle, and she wondered why she was not loosing any weight. At 10.15am mileage reading 67876 we left the Comfort Inn for Laconia, Meredith and Conway taking the slower non-toll roads. At 11.50am I spotted an advert for Tanghir Shopping outlet (US version of factory outlet) and Alison agreed to stop by but it took us way off our route. She managed to get Adrian a badly needed pair of Levis,(no less) jeans, while I got myself a zip up hoodie for USD12.50, and the kid's jeans cost twice as much. As it was well over lunch time when we left the shops, and McD was nearby Alison bought their lunch while I had the left over Pad Thai. We had to go on the Interstate 93 for a few miles before we got back on the what we call the A roads in UK that brought us to Meredith. It is situated on the NW end of Lake Winnipesaukee, the largest lake in the area and offered a picturesque setting. It reminded me of Lake Windermere but the houses along the waterfront were absolutely beautiful. I had to ask Alison to her annoyance because of traffic, to take a photo of Tuah. Thereafter we passed towns with familiar names like Tamworth, Conway while heading for Mt. Washington Auto Road. As it was drizzling and a bit late for us to go up the mountain, we decided to spend the night in a motel nearby and Alison identified the Town & Country Inn but to our surprise the asking price was exorbitant although the Motel was fully equipped. We proceeded further thinking that we could find a cheaper place but found nothing except for two campsites and since it had stopped raining we checked in at Timberland Campsite. We settled in very quickly as Alison wanted to get the cooking done in case the weather decide to take a turn for the worse. That was when discovered that the rice cooker wouldn't work......shit I thought! I tried to get it on to the inverter and that was when the whole pot tumbled on to the ground. That was the end of our rice!!! We had bread instead with chicken curry and Berbere omelette.
