It was obviously not in the least comfortable sleeping in Tuah with the seat upright as I couldn’t recline it. In the early hours of the morning I heard voices outside and thought to myself that this was going to be a drug bust. To my disappointment it turned out to be an illegal sale of breakfast in the airport car park. As I was up I inspected Tuah for any sign of damage after the piste crossing and found the electrical connection for the towing bar bent.

Dinner was good last night and we all had a good rest and slept soundly. Breakfast was good too and the house youghart was so good that we had to buy some of for Adrian to take with us. We met an American couple who slept under the stars in the desert without realizing that they were in Merzouga. During our farewell chat with Aziz and Hussein (who acts as a guide, when not waiting), we were made aware that we had been on the most difficult piste in Morocco the day before!!!

The day started off well with breakfast under the Berbere tent although we had to provide our own eggs. I then decided to have a hair cut at the local barber with Lahsin guiding us.

The team including Tuah who had to stay out in the open overnight decided that one full day in the desert was quite enough. It was time to settle the bill and move on towards Ouarzazate at our own pace.

I wasn’t too happy about being taken for granted that we wanted rooms to stay in but seeing that the last time Alison had a good shower was in Algeciras, I didn’t make an issue of it. The charges of 600 Dhs, half board per day seemed excessive though.

We tried to make an early start but Phil (Intercooler Band member) and girlfriend Dian came over for a chat as they were moving on as well. Of course Adrian had to say farewell to Rodney and Blacky.

Steve decided to come with us for today's outing although he had pipes leaking in the bathroom and the hot water pressure needed to be raised. I had to wait 20 minutes before I could take a shower and even then the water was hardly hot enough. This is camping remember!!!

We were ready pretty early for a change and were at Café Forum (our internet service provider) by 10.00am. After depositing the washing at the laundry which happened to be nearby we headed for Porto. The drive to Porto was beautiful although we were covered in clouds at the higher altitude. Porto on the other hand was nothing exceptional, other than the football team of course!

One needs to experience waking up to the birds singing to appreciate what God has given us. I was up before sunrise and managed to capture these shots which I would like to share with everyone. Bear in mind that this campsite is less than 2 kms from the very centre of Villa Real.

It was raining cats and dogs this morning and I had to repack Tuah. Apparently according to the majority, it was my junk that was causing the overloading and therefore my responsibility to get everything stowed right. I managed to get the far side of the car under the parking shed to avoid getting wet. I announced our readiness to depart but the seats were still piled up with stuff. Alison must have seen that I was getting wet and no complaints from her when we left Hotel Athena.

The day started off well. Although it had been raining during the night, by the time we got up it had subsided to a very light drizzle. Even Adrian woke up smiling for a change. Of course I still had all the junk to clear up although three bags were now empty. It was a pity to leave the lovely campsite in Biarritz.

It took us two and a half hours to break camp and loaded Tuah. We are learning and getting the hang of loading and distributing the various items to the right laces, maybe!

1 st May was chaotic. I had made a deal with Alison that I would sleep first and she was to wake me up when she was finished with her clearing up and ready to go to bed. 4 am it was when she woke me up. I had the study floor full of things needing to be sorted out and Tuah had still to be loaded.
