11th May 2008 - Villa Real, Portugal

One needs to experience waking up to the birds singing to appreciate what God has given us. I was up before sunrise and managed to capture these shots which I would like to share with everyone. Bear in mind that this campsite is less than 2 kms from the very centre of Villa Real.

Early morning serenity Sunrise at campsite

Today we decided to really get our act together otherwise we will go on lugging stuff we don’t need. Adrian’s push chair had to go….poor Adrian will have to walk from now on. Our campsite caretaker would know what to do with it. We were ready to go out to the launderette by Noon only to discover that everything was shut, being Sunday. We did walk into town hoping that we would find access to the internet and we did, thanks to the waiter where we had lunch. We also discovered that wifi was available.

Performing my paternal duties, Villa Real

Paternal duties in the meantime had also got to be carried out, but I think sometimes I am too much of a gentleman to give my good lady the to choose where she prefers to take over the pushing!

Alison chose the downhill section to push the chair....

I couldn’t resist asking Alison to take this photo with the ravine as a background in the middle of the city.

All my junks sorted ....

We planned to return the next morning in Tuah ……. (I was knocked out on our return, so no more walking for me!)

Tiredness can make one sleep

We finished off the housekeeping and I was a happy person indeed. We had dinner at the campsite restaurant but I declined any form of alcohol as I was having problem with my exhaust…..need to use those suppositories, whether I like it or not and watch my diet!!!Our caretaker friend and the Restaurant manager were there but behaving themselves glued to the tv set, watching Benfica playing…why not Villa Real???
