Sept 8; Bled to Innsbruck, Slovania/Austria

It was time to move again this morning and we had to bid farewell to new found friends. Adrian found it hard as usual to say goodbye but he would get over it soon enough. We drove to the border town of Jennice to take fuel as it is cheaper in Slovania and stock up on peanuts and some other food stuff.

As we neared the border just before the tunnel we were asked to pay €6.50 to cross over through the tunnel. Alison tried to argue that we had paid vignette,  but it was futile as the attendant was only carrying out her job. We then had to pay another €10 for another tunnel in Austria.

As it was anticipated that there would be some stretches of the road being narrow and windy Alison drove after the lunch break and continued driving until she clipped the side mirror against an oncoming car or van, I wasn’t quite sure which. She was so stunned that when I asked her to pull over for me to drive, there was no argument at all. She admitted that she was in no state to drive further.

The E66 brought us to Mestrill which is a nice town and also … which has the look of a ski resort. I would imagine that they are pretty in the snow covered hills.

We arrived at Natterersee Camping and found it to be a little expensive but the facilities are first class. Apparently the block we were using are brand new as in June last year it was in the midst of being built, according to one of the regulars here. We decide to relax a bit and spend a couple of nights here for a change.
