Sept 13; Bad Herrenalb to Remagen, Germany

It was a miserable morning with fine rain as we woke up and decided to quickly put the tent down and head out of the campsite, after a shower. Just as we were leaving at the gate

a gentleman asked us to wait for a while and we thought he was going to get his camera as he spotted me taking a photo of Tuah at the gates. Anyway he returned with 3 bunches of grapes for us to eat on the way. Mr. Verner, apparently has a vineyard somewhere nearby.

The town of Bad Herrenalb is very pretty especially with the flowers arranged along the river banks and the roundabouts. We had our breakfast of what appears like roti naik which was delicious especially with café late. Alison got chased away from a parking bay and was furious about it.

We then took a drive to Calw and passed a few towns not as pretty as Bad Heeenalb but pretty enough for holiday makers, I guess as there are loads of guesthouses in the towns. On reaching Pforzheim  we headed for the highway towards Koln (Cologne), while all the time it was drizzling and raining at times. There was not even an opportunity to stop for coffee although Adrian had time to do big jobs in his pants and claimed that he only farted!

About 120 kms out of Koln the sun came out and as Alison was driving I had a look at the map and decided that it could be better if we headed for Koblenz instead to give some time for Adrian to run around when we reached a campsite. I found one called Campingplatz Goldene Meile whcich was just 20 kms south of Bonn in Remagen. The night was terribly cold and Alison was complaining that she couldn’t sleep but all my suggestions to keep warm were ignored. That’s life!
